Substrate: calciferous rocks
Altitudinal distribution: submediterranean/colline belt (potential vegetation: mixed deciduous forests dominated by Quercus and Carpinus)
Note: a species with a thin, continuous to partly rimulose, whitish thallus forming patches to 3 cm in diam., slightly protruding ascomata (to 0.3 mm in diam.), an adpressed involucrellum reaching down to the base of the perithecia (to partly entire), and ellipsoid ascospores (to c. 35 µm long); on calcareous schists, only known from the type locality in the Western Alps (Italy).
