Verrucaria nidulifera Servít

Lichenised. Poorly known taxon.
Substrate: calciferous rocks
Altitudinal range: from the submediterranean/colline belt (potential vegetation: mixed deciduous forests dominated by Quercus and Carpinus) to the montane belt (potential vegetation: deciduous forests dominated by Fagus sylvatica and closed coniferous forests with Picea abies)
Note: according to Breuss (see Nimis 2016) this species resembles Parabagliattoa dufourii (which was growing together with the type material), differing in the less developed involucrellum, the more immersed perithecia and the presence of oil hyphae. It was described on the basis of a sample collected by F. Arnold on dolomite (see Nimis 1993: 755), the ecology being similar to that of Parabagliettoa dufourii.
