Lichenised. Poorly known taxon.

Altitudinal distribution: montane belt (potential vegetation: deciduous forests dominated by Fagus sylvatica and closed coniferous forests with Picea abies)
Note: a species with a thin, whitish, subareolate thallus, semi-immersed perithecia (to c. 0.2 mm in diam.), ellipsoid, 1-septate ascospores with some non-septate intermixed (to c. 30 µm long); on temporarily submerged calcareous schists; only known from the type locality in the Eastern Alps (Germany).
