Altitudinal distribution: submediterranean/colline belt (potential vegetation: mixed deciduous forests dominated by Quercus and Carpinus)
Note: a silicicolous species reported only from the type collection above Spotorno. Thallus thin, blackish, bearing very small (0.1-0.2 mm in diam.), black, rounded apothecia with a concave disc and a thick proper margin; epithecium reddish, paraphyses free, simple; hymenium c. 45 µm tall, ascospores hyaline, simple, measuring 10-14 × 4-6 µm.
