How to arrive

By Plane
Trieste is well connected to several airports located within a radius of 150 km:
Trieste – Friuli Venezia Giulia Airport (TRS) is connected by direct flights to various Italian cities (Bari, Milan, Naples, Rome, Trapani) and European cities (Barcelona, London, Munich, Tirana, Valencia). The airport is located about 40 km from Trieste. The city can be reached in about 30 minutes by train (€ 4.40) from the airport station to Trieste Centrale station. Departures from the airport are every 15-20 minutes. The city can also be reached by regional bus (line 51, direction Trieste). Tickets (€ 4.05) can be purchased online, at the ticket machines at the airport or at the tourist information office - Turismo FVG. Venice – Marco Polo Airport (VCE) is located about 150 km from Trieste and offers numerous national and international connections. The city can be reached by train (€ 15 – 20) from Venezia-Mestre station, in about 2 hours. Shuttle buses from the airport to Venezia-Mestre station run every 30 minutes. Tickets (€ 10) can be purchased online or from ticket machines at the airport. There is also a direct Flixbus connection to Trieste Centrale station (www.flixbus.it ). Treviso – Antonio Canova Airport (TSF) is located about 150 km from Trieste and can be reached by national and international flights. The city can be reached by train (€ 15 – 20) from Venezia-Mestre station in about 2 hours. Public bus lines (www.atvo.it) from the airport to Venezia-Mestre station run every 20 minutes and arrive to the station in about 50 minutes. By Train
Trieste Centrale Station is located in the city center. Connections to Udine and Venice are available almost every hour. Train schedules can be found on the website www.trenitalia.it.

By Car
From Italy: Take the A4 Venice-Trieste highway, after the last tollbooth at the Monfalcone-Lisert exit, take the "Sistiana" exit and continue on State Road 14 "Costiera", a scenic/panoramic road along the coast.

From Slovenia: Take the A1/E61 highway from Ljubljana towards the Fernetti - Opicina border. From the Fernetti state border, reach Opicina, cross the town, and follow the signs for "Trieste centro" along the Strada Nuova per Opicina, which descends in wide curves to the town .
