In the context of the monographic work 'La laguna di Venezia', Augusto Béguinot played an important role both in field research and in the publication's editing.
First of all, he assisted Aristocle Vatova in some algae collections, and his contribution is evident in those sheets of the algarium where the collection data is followed by the initials 'A.B.', as well as in the Monograph, where the corresponding locations and dates are accompanied by the phrase 'legit A. Béguinot'.
He was also tasked with overseeing the section of the Monograph dedicated to flora and fauna, as well as editing the chapter on vascular flora. It was in this context that he played a significant role in assigning the determination of the samples to Victor Schiffner. He also supervised the drafting of the text by Schiffner and Vatova on algae, collaborating with Michelangelo Minio through a dense exchange of letters; in particular, he revised the drafts before sending them to Minio for further verification and approval for printing.
