Perched on a gentle hill overlooking the town, the Castle of Gorizia is a medieval stronghold that dates back to the 11th century. Once the seat of the powerful Counts of Gorizia, the castle today offers sweeping views of the surrounding valleys and a glimpse into the region’s feudal past. At its base lies a charming borgo—a small, historic village of cobbled streets, stone houses, and quiet courtyards—where time seems to slow down. Together, they form a harmonious blend of history, architecture, and tranquil atmosphere.
