Gorizia is a beautiful town in northeastern Italy, right on the border with Slovenia. Here's how to get there by plane, train, and car.

Gorizia doesn't have its own airport, but several nearby international airports provide convenient access:
Nearest Airports:
- Trieste – Friuli Venezia Giulia Airport (TRS) (~30 km)
- Shuttle/train: APT Bus Line 51 to Gorizia Centrale (~45 min).
- Taxi/car: ~30 min drive via A4 and A34.
- Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE) (~140 km)
- Train from Venezia Mestre to Gorizia Centrale (~2.5 hrs).
- By car: ~1 hr 40 min via A4.
- Ljubljana Airport (LJU), Slovenia (~130 km)
- Car or taxi (~1.5 hrs via H4/A34).
- Shuttle to Ljubljana, then bus/train to Nova Gorica, walk into Gorizia.
- Treviso Airport (TSF) (~120 km)
- Options similar to Venice: reach Venezia Mestre or Udine, then train.

- From Trieste: Regional Trenitalia trains (~1 hour).
- From Venice: Via Udine (~2.5 hrs).

From Slovenia:
- Train to Nova Gorica.
- Walk across the border into Gorizia (just a few minutes on foot).
From Austria:
- From Villach or Klagenfurt: Train to Udine, then Gorizia (~3–4 hrs).
🚗 By Car
From Italy:
- Trieste: A4 and A34 (~40 min).
- Venice: A4, exit at Villesse/Gorizia (~1 hr 40 min).
- Udine: SR56 (~50 min).
From Slovenia:
- Ljubljana: H4 expressway to Nova Gorica, cross border (~1.5 hrs).
From Austria:
- Villach: A2 and A23 to A4/A34 (~2.5 hrs).
- Scenic route via Tarvisio available.
Border Tip: Gorizia and Nova Gorica are twin towns, separated by just a square. Thanks to the Schengen Agreement, you can cross the border freely with no checks (for EU/Schengen travelers).
